News I woke up to this morning- whilst reading the daily mail
Quick view point from a British girl living in the States.
What is the identity of these people?
We need to instill a sense of British pride (somehow) and understand these communities (living in the UK) who show hatred to the bloody country they are living in.... Bloody twats!
----------------------------------------------------
6pm UK time-
A third vehicle is found- more news unfolding- park lane, piccadilly, fleet st.

The people react
(comments taken from the Daily Mail story, link above):

" I'm so glad this was found.
- Bee, London
The capital owes so much to the staff at the nightclub Tiger, Tiger for their vigilance in avoiding another great attrocity.
- Andrew Davey, Oldham, UK
Thank goodness we have the brave bomb squad officers who are prepared to investigate and defuse such things. They are more valueable to the country than all the politicians put together and should be rewarded accordingly.
- Retired, Beaconsfield, England
I have always thought that our security forces - for all the criticism - do a fantastic job for this country. You have only to look at our record.
- Sylvia, UK
I am glad this was found, but it shows we are still on a very high alert.
- Jacqui Weems, Southampton
Looks like someone's trying to exert their 'authority' over the Brown New Labour regime change. Thank the alertness and suspiciousness of both the public and police that this despicable act didn't succeed. Whoever did it, it greatly damages not helps their cause.
- Baz, London UK
This is Blair's legacy.
- Ted Fisher, Hemyock , Devon, England
I'm so glad I left London for a more peaceful city.
- Peter, Amsterdam, Netherlands (Exile)
Isn't it about time we took off the kid gloves with these terrorist threats?
Let's see how the new McBrowne 'wonderwoman' responds?
- Geoff Malthouse, Newark, Notts "
otentially viable explosive device is not the same as bomb. Methinks we have not got the full story here. Coincidence, or inside job.
- Alex, Wigan Lancashire
Cheers Tony!
- Anonymous, S. East
Enough is enough - for god's sake, go and find the driver!
- Pollyanna, London
It was not our security/intelligence services who discovered this, which is most worrying.
Certainly does not take too much working out who is behind this (wakey, wakey), that loveable cuddly moderate peaceful cult no doubt. Where is there next port of call?
Well done to those who reported the vehicle and to our services who handle these situations so well.
- Marj Bruin, South East
Strange! I'm cynical. Very convenient timing. Perhaps just to keep us all on edge and in line?
- Terence, Hereford, UK
This was a very primitive type bomb, that used gas/petrol canisters as explosives. Apparently the crude scheme was quickly detected after a bouncer and another observer observed the silver grey Mercedes being being driven erratically then into a bunch of rubbish bins and bags. The driver then ran away. The car? It was likely stolen earlier.
On the other hand, a member of a family of 4,(all adults), managed to leave for France via a local North West airport, five weeks ago, with one of the party holding a passport that was four years out of date. They were re-admitted again too. Appalling and sloppy security, was their verdict. It illustrates that we still have many loopholes and weak links.
Panic not, we are fortunate that there are no major minds behind this latest scheme!
- Trish Malone, Liverpool, England
I have recently left London to live in Bristol but all my family and close friends do live and work there. It made my stomach turn when I saw this news and I immediately contacated my sister who works very close to the Haymarket. Whoever alerted the police deserves huge thanks as what could have happened would be unimaginable. Jack Straw's comments are outrageous and he should be ashamed of himself. This government has alot to answer for as the blame lies directly at their door!
- N, Bristol
Yes from now on let's blame Blair every time something like this happens; I guess it's not apparent that nothing short of everyone being converted or killed will satisfy the terrorists. But what if it wasn't terrorists, well let's blame Blair anyway, it's convenient.
- Phorkinspoon, Manama, Bahrain
I trust that the bins were out on the right day or there could be a fine. I am sure some council official is looking into this as I write!
- Richard, Mersin 10, Turkey "
